Inland Revenue – No More Cheque Payments
It is the end of the line for Cheques
For those of you still using cheques as your method of payment to the Inland Revenue, you will no longer be able to do so from 1 March 2020.
Since September 2019, the Inland Revenue have been phasing out cheques and offering other ways to meet your payment obligations. Most of you should have received a letter similar to the example below suggesting other ways to pay and giving you an online link to find out more about the process.
It is important that your tax is paid before, or by, the due date to avoid extra penalties and interest.
If you need any help to set up tax payments via your internet banking please give us a call, alternatively you can still make EFTPOS or cash deposits to the Inland Revenue at any Westpac branch.
